I needed a present for a friend and had no time to order from America so I searched old cyberspace for some good UK sites dedicated to massive dogs. There weren't any. Now, if she had had a kennel full of chihauhas, I could have bought a wardrobe full of clothes for the little mites. So, I put the kettle on and decided there and then to do it myself. We know about big dogs as we live with four newfies that we work in the water and in carts. We also parade them around a showring occasionally. We have also just had our first litter of 12 babies. Our products began with a few simple tshirt designs, but as their popularity grew, we realised we were going to have to expand, and quick! Here we are now with our second website and the plans to create clothing and cool stuff for more big breeds. Well, us with newfies can't be greedy can we? I have to admit It's fun sitting and thinking of funny things we can make that depict our big slobbery breeds. All our products are hand finished - Jake whizzes about in computer programmes like he is playing on an X box while I make the tea, then when he's done the technical bits, I make the final item. However, we can't do everything here so some local people help us by making certain items and we ship other stuff in from all over the world. Being just the two of us means we can't make the trips to get them ourselves so we employed Alice to search the globe for stuff she would look good in herself (we figure she knows more about canine style than we do!) She even has her own page. Well that's it really. Isn't that how all businesses start? We musn't forget designer boy Simon who does the artwork and Dan who created the Alice character, Richard sorts the technical bits we don't understand on the website and Joe sorts the marketing. Of course, Harry Potter, Alice, Evie and Robbie try everything out in quality control. And YOU who send in suggestions that sometimes test us to the max. Thank you all. |
